'My Grave is Your Grave' [5:20]
A short film about death, life and ownership.
Shot alone with my tripod in Glasgow Necropolis on 21st August 2022, edited together in rough draft to share with you cos I love it. I may or may not redo the voiceover, but will definitely tweak visuals and other sound elements later.
'NASA, Merthyr Tydfil' [3:19]
A short film about returning home.
Shot alone with my tripod in my Nana's house in Merthyr Tydfil. My Nana is no longer with us, and the film features my Aunty Pat who still lives in the family home.
'COROTOS' [4:32]
A short film about leaving London.
Shot with my partner Andrea at home in Margate, this short explores letting go of ideas, places and physical things like pieces of art.
'strawberries' [1:20]
Experimental footage using painting and installation.
This was me playing with strawberries - shaving them, making a landscape, becoming a giant in that landscape. It was shot using a table less than 1 metre wide, with reflective acrylic and oil to double the image.
I am interested in strawberries as a fruit that can be erotic and yet retains its innocence. I believe these two things can co-exist.

This was for/of my best friend Ellis, an artist who lives on the coast in Wales where I'm from.

Ellis had a stoma (after a burst tumor, and then an infection around her spine and other pelvic issues) from when we were 26, for 6 years.

We are applying for funding to make a piece of physical art and short film together around her experience, as she is a full-time mother and in recovery, so has been out of art practice for 6 years and wants collaborative support.

Me in 'giving the piss'
'giving the piss' [7:44]
Roughly edited footage of my live performance piece with BRINK residency 2022.

Here I piss myself, in a totally non-sensational, highly intimate exploration of dissolving boundaries and letting go. There is a narrative voiceover that goes off-script towards the end.

I hope (funding permitting) to remake this, along with a sister-piece called 'shit bag' which will explore my best friend Ellis' experience with her stoma. Ellis says, "It can be glossy and red, folded, pronounced, more or less protruding, and when I first had the op the doctor said it would end up looking like a rosebud, which is fucking bollocks."
Ellis found the "inspirational" stoma accounts on Instagram totally misleading, with beautiful abstract close-ups and simplified instructions to love yourself, so we aim to make a more raw exploration that is beautiful nonetheless, and to have these sister-pieces with one relatively able-bodied and one disabled artist, both working to dissolve shame.
Ellis' engagement pic.
'silvo' [4:53]
Spontaneous pre-show footage, just before the audience were let in at Nayland Rock for BRINK residency 2021.
